As most of you know, every September our company collects gently used men’s and women’s professional clothing so it can be distributed to our 200 nonprofit partners who then give it to their unemployed clients transitioning back into the workforce. Men’s Wearhouse and Men’s Wearhouse & Tux stores serve as drop-off locations, and our hub drivers help transport the clothing donations to the nonprofits. These nonprofits also provide housing, counseling, job skill training and job search support. 

I’ve been fortunate enough to meet some of the people who received a free outfit in previous years, complete with belt, shoes, ties, and a new shirt donated by our company. Not only did they make an impression at job interviews with the donated clothing, but they also proudly wore it to attend their child’s graduation, take their spouse out on their anniversary and attend church services. We take “liking the way we look” for granted; but many people don’t own a wardrobe that supports their being self-confident and comfortable at any event or occasion.  

Everyone in our company – not just our store employees and hub drivers – can help make this year’s National Suit Drive a big success.
